WHO ARE WE?

The Walthamstow Owners and Welfare Association is run by a committee of volunteers who all passionately believe that each and every retired greyhound deserve a loving and secure life after racing.

WHAT DO WE DO AND WHY?

Our main function is to provide the best care for the greyhounds after their racing career at Walthamstow Stadium has ended and to find the greyhounds the right family home so that they can lead a happy and full life. Greyhounds make the perfect family pet and we want to promote this message far and wide.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A RETIRED GREYHOUND AS A PET?

Great! It will be a decision that will enhance your family life. Click here for frequently asked questions about retired greyhounds as pets and our answers to these questions. PERHAPS YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP US IN ANOTHER WAY?

Also great! You may for example wish to help sponsor our resident dog Ryan who unfortunately cannot be homed. Or perhaps you may like to help with fund raising or as a volunteer dog walker or you may have a suggestion to assist our scheme. Please click here for details. We would love to hear from you!

RE-HOMING BOOTH AT WALTHAMSTOW STADIUM

If you are paying a visit to Walthamstow Stadium on a Saturday evening, why not come along and visit our re-homing booth. John will be able to provide you with loads of information on the re-homing process and also show you a list of current dogs that are awaiting for a new home. John's dog Barley and Shadow are also both on attendance and they both love a good cuddle!

GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH

'Boris'

My name is Boris and I am a 4 year old black and white dog. I am very lively happy dog who loves lots of attention and likes to play. I love people, but I am quite excitable chap and am not so happy with other dogs.
I would be best suited to a home with no small children and where I will be the only pet. I would be a great fun pet if you like a lively dog.
