Due to the fine
autumn weather we
had a busy event.
It was lovely to
see so many of the
greyhounds we have
homed come and visit
the stall. Barley
was on her best behaviour
as always and we were
advised we should
have entered her into
the dog show (maybe
next time).Barley
in is the picture
with a couple of her
new friends that
visited the stall
and gave her a lovely
cuddle. |

Victor Chandler
60th Gala
Evening -
Sat 16th Sept
2006
Chairman Barrie
Clegg accepting
a cheque for
£2,500
from Victor
Chandler.
An extra £1,000
was also raised
on the evening
through our
hard-working
bucket collectors!
Victor
Chandler's
career is
the stuff
of legend.
He is arguably
the most famous
bookmaker
in the world.
He's the Indiana
Jones of bookmaking,
the fearless,
swashbuckling
rails layer
who lit up
Britain's
racecourses
for two decades,
taking on
the high rollers,
staking everything
on his judgement,
the gold prospector
who excavated
rich new revenue
seams internationally,
the visionary,
the dashing
pioneer who
turned the
industry inside
out and moving
to Gibraltareight
years ago.
